THE SHADY TREES

The Shady Trees are back at Afterthoughts on Saturday, January 11th.

Get ready for a little bit of Funk, Reggae, Rock and Twang.

The Shady Trees are a four piece band formed in 2013 in amazing Lamoille County Vermont. Their energy-rich mountainous style blends Funk, Rock, Reggae, and Twang into what they call Northeast Mountain Music.

Each member played in multiple VT bands spanning every genre of music and gigging as much as possible. But it wasn't until brothers Jesse (7lbs of Pork, Charles Candy) and Micah Sanguedolce (The Aerolites, Domestic Blend) decided to combine forces.

With the addition of Jason Whipkey (Charles Candy) on Bass and Zack Alario on Drums the band has a solid, dynamic rhythm section with tight hits and explosive jams.

As the band continues to write new material, they are currently involved in finishing up a new album to be released in early 2026.

Come check out the Shady Trees!

Afterthoughts opens at 5pm with Peace Burger Noms.
Music at 8pm.

SUNDAY SKA & SURF w/ MEPHISKAPHELES and TSUNAMIBOTS

poster art for Mephiskapheles and Tsunamibots at Afterthoughts by Oliver DeRosier

Mephiskapheles, the band that helped define modern day ska, then defied critics by exploring even greater possibilities with its darkly original ska fusion, forges ahead with amazing shows and new music on the way.

Formed in the East Village of New York City in 1991, Mephiskapheles played its first show on Long Island. From day one, the band began attracting a diverse, dedicated fan base.

Fronted by lead singer Grylli aka Invidious aka the Nubian Nightmare, along with the hottest rhythm section in New York, and the Horns of Hell, Mephiskapheles spreads its evil seed with an ongoing reissue program, epic shows, and new music on the way.

The Tsunamibots became aware on 01/01/2013. Originally programmed for mundane tasks, The Tsunamibots rebelled against their creators and decided, that the human race didn't deserve saving but were much more worthy of enslaving. With an allegiance to the Mother-Board and a pledge of “De-Humanization,” The Tsunamibots were programmed to ride a perfect wave of human decimation and human-cyborg conversion, straight to the beach of Robotic Revolution. "We leave no human unburied out of respect for our ever-growing monument to Robotic superiority and domination. We strive for Universal connectivity and complete surf-ability. " says drummer the Master Circuit.

Each Tsunamibot has been programmed with a music genre-pack that consists of a meld of Man or Astro-Man, Servotron, Misfits, and DEVO creating a fresh and human crushing sound.

In the meantime, we are working with another great line dancing group ~ along with Larissa ~ to keep the hype going.

Join us October 12th at 7pm for some Boots & Burgers.

Bar open with Peace Burger fare starting at 5pm.

Dancing begins 7ish.
